About the Project

Olympic Dam Mine, operated by BHP—one of the world’s largest mining companies—is located approximately 550 km north‑west of Adelaide and produces copper, gold and uranium.

As one of the largest contractors on site, this opportunity offers valuable experience to support the growth of your maintenance career within underground mining.

The Role

This position operates on a 2 & 2 roster, working 12‑hour shifts, and is responsible for leading maintenance activities across underground and surface operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supervising a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, support and mentorship
  • Ensuring all site and workshop activities comply with health, safety, training, environmental and statutory requirements
  • Managing and conducting personal risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) to maintain safety awareness and compliance
  • Conducting preventative maintenance inspections to identify and address potential issues proactively
  • Overseeing maintenance execution to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Assigning tasks effectively to optimise resource utilisation
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records, including work orders, daily reports and equipment history
  • Managing and reviewing inventory of spare parts, tooling and equipment required for maintenance activities

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter/Mechanic trade qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in a Supervisor role working with underground and heavy‑duty equipment
  • Proficiency with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • A high level of initiative with the ability to perform under pressure
  • Strong leadership capability and well‑rounded communication skills
  • A valid manual driver’s licence
